OLOID Bulb Rosette Ø18

The design is derived from the 2D projection of the intriguing three-dimensional figure of an ‘oloid’. Its spherical outline is sharply intersected by opposing circular strokes, rendering the edges almost paper-thin in contrast to the soft, curving interior of the rosette. Valleys between the curves release beams of light, while the peaks cast a play of gradient shadows.

It fits easily in old and new architectural environments and is beautifully mounted on both walls and ceilings.

Please note that each plaster piece is poured in a mold and hand-finished, making small air bubbles and imperfections a natural and tactile part of its ‘human’ expression. The gypsum and porcelain components may be installed as they are or painted to suit their surroundings. Additional coats of paint will gradually soften air bubbles and sanding marks, blending them into the surface.
